Inspired by this unusual muse for a Perfume, Amygdala Extrait, at 35% concentration is deliberately powerful, releasing an immense olfactory force, which lifts us above the everyday, as we float in the infinite potential and creativity found deep within the immensity of our own brain.
The perfumer let himself be guided by a DTI image of our cerebral hemispheres in which he was able to see an enormous iris flower, where he immediately decided to concentrate and work around a complex and exciting floral bouquet.
Jasmine Sambac, Egyptian Violet, Madagascan Ylang Ylang and Tunisian Orange Flower, weave a rich and complex trail – emulating the vortex of colours found deep within our consciousness.
Balancing the florality, a pinch of Pink Pepper and Arabica Coffee from South America melds seamlessly into Sri Lankan Cinnamon, above a bed of Guaiac Wood, earthy Vetiver and warm resinous Labdanum.
The result is a synesthetic journey of colour, scent and emotions – where nothing is quite what it seems, an unfolding olfactory journey of multi faceted intrigue.
