L'Astre - a perfume inspired by the epitome of glamour, decadence and refinery - Ava Gardner.

Monsieur Vacher, the founder and perfumer of Le Galion, introduced to and dazzled by her, made her the face and ambassador for "Sortilege", the top selling high society Perfume of the 1950s.

Following this hugely successful campaign, Ava asked if Vacher would create her a bespoke artisan creation, like an olfactory jewel that radiated distinction, femininity, and opulence.

Fast forward 70 years, and we are introduced to a cleverly balanced, contemporary re-working of the original formula; previously private and closely guarded by her estate and heirs, this brilliant and shimmering composition of opulent florals with a hint of spices and plush amber undertones is now available to experience.

Then I worked on a spectacular floral accord - especially white flowers - to underline its impressive aura and wink at the grand bouquets of that era.
