Nocturnes and passionate encounters, this composition encapsulates the pulsating rhythm and nightlife of the roaring twenties – swirling sweet tobacco and rum, and a dry spiced vanilla explode in an extrait of illicit and sensuous sillage.
Cuba, often the inspiration for many of Cherigan's perfumes, a hothouse of sexual and racial liberation, where the local and international glitterati descended for the time of their lives. Fleeting encounters, outrageous affairs, illegal substances and alcohol fuelled hedonism was top of the party list.
This Extrait de Parfum, at an impressive 90% composition of natural ingredients, is a vibrating, luminous, yet deeply warm amberesque scent with essence of rum, davana, tolu, immortelle, tobacco, tonka, and patchouli. Madagascan vanilla, tolu, sandalwood and musk nuances support the main body of notes, giving a haunting, lingering dry down – like the ghost of a long lost lover, waiting, still sensed, still alive, deep in the longest of sweltering Cuban nights.
