The third creation in the Talismans Collection, following the enigmatic Osang and the radiant Talento, Athanor continues Mendittorosa’s spiritual odyssey — a fragrant meditation on transformation through fire.

CONCEPT

In the language of alchemy, the Athanor is the crucible of change — the vessel where heat refines, purifies, and reveals hidden light. In the heart of this sacred fire, matter is reborn, and the spirit awakens to a higher state of beauty.

Mendittorosa invites you to sense this metamorphosis through perfume — to witness the alchemy of the invisible. The fragrance glows rather than burns: a diffused, sacred heat, dissolving human heaviness into a silvery translucence. From this inner purification emerges a vibrant gold — the spiritual essence of love transformed through fire. Athanor opens with a sulphurous spark — the scent of awakening, alive and volatile — before softening into the radiant warmth of saffron and tender florals, suspended in the smoke of incense and precious woods. It is the Incendium Amoris, the Fire of Love: the fragrance of becoming.

CRAFT & SYMBOLISM

Athanor was born from two years of meticulous artistry, an olfactory dialogue between Luca Maffei and Stefania Squeglia, united in their quest to distil spirit into scent.

Carmine Borreli, also known as Nibo, who is both a goldsmith and sculptor, completed the cap's design. He is meticulous and scientific in his execution and a deeply inspired and creative artist. The cap, depicting two human figures holding the crucible, captures the sacred ritual of creation — where ethics and aesthetics melt together under the guidance of fire.

Through Nibo’s touch, the bronze shifts in colour, echoing the beauty of evolution — the visible trace of inner transformation. At the base of each flacon lies a gold-plated bronze nugget — a fragment of light, a symbol of origin and return.

It serves as a reminder that all individuals possess the ability to transform, to flourish, and to rise above.
