It has been a really dynamic year here at Shy Mimosa, with some very exciting additions to our curated library of niche perfumes.

Cherigan rose like a sleeping beauty from a 100 year slumber, to huge interest and critical acclaim. A stellar family of eight Extrait strength perfumes, inspired by the roaring 1920's and housed in bright art deco style bottles, these really fired up your imaginations. From gourmand coffee, to decadent solar florals, smoked honey animalic oud, and boozy cocktails bursting with vibrant rum, tobacco and vanilla nuances – Cherigan has proved very popular indeed.

The Perfumers Story by Azzi arrived in a blaze of olfactory molecular gay abandon! A unique collection of stories told in scent, housed in 'book' boxes, created by an independent nose who previously made bespoke perfumes for actors 'getting into role' and musicians to aid creativity and performance. Some resolutely modern, others with a knowingly vintage/retro vibe – this is a collection of British eccentricity and tongue in cheek sensuality – all created with huge aplomb, flamboyancy and decadence! A must try.

We also began our bi monthly 'Mini Workshops' focused on a single perfumery ingredient which people have really enjoyed and we are working on more for next year. So far, we have shared events based around 'Orange Blossom' and 'Lavender'. Interactive, informative yet informal, these have been great fun to host and a pleasure to see the participation and enjoyment of friends, clients and customers.

A new addition to the usually historical Maison Violet was Cycle 200 – a bright futuristic scent propelling us into an interstellar future. Big doses of Bergamot, with Chilli, Cumin and Frankincense!

And last but not least, our very own Limited Edition Trio of Shy Mimosa Candles made exclusively for us by prolific perfumer Anais Biguine (Jardins D'Ecrivains) arrived in late November! These are proving to be a real success story, three candles with distinctly individual scents of Tangerine, Fir, and Rose – but sharing the common theme of seasonal and festive scent.
